Veteran's Day

I meant to write this great big post about Veteran’s Day. But I ran out of time. So I’ll keep this short and sweet...

Honor your Veterans today. They have earned and deserve our respect. They go overseas and fight for causes that you and I can’t understand, and they don’t do it because they believe in it…they do it because they believe in us. They do it to protect our way of life. And to protect others.

With everything that has been going on in the Middle East in recent years, and will continue for the foreseeable future, there are more of our loved ones risking their lives daily than ever before. They risk far more than we can comprehend over here in our world. And they do it day in and day out. Pray for them. Pray for their loved ones that they leave behind here at home.

These are things that I never thought of before B came into my life. He’s experienced combat twice, and seen things that still give him nightmares. He’s a Marine. He will always be a Marine. He was in the first wave of Marines that took the airfields that allowed us access to start the war that we’re currently living in. He was one of the first injuries recorded in this war - he stepped on a land mine. He survived. But he lives with things on a daily basis that I cannot fathom. I’ve held his hand as he wept for his guys that are still active and over there. And for the ones that never made it home after he left. He was a leader…he had men under him…and he still has nightmares from the brief time that he was over there. This is a very hard day for him…and others.

So go hug a Veteran today. They deserve it.
